But first he pluck three golden feathers from the dragon, who lives in a castle in faraway Senegal. Saturday, November 17 through December 23: Bachman's might seem like a strange place to catch a holiday show. But for the last two decades, the Minneapolis plant and garden retailer has staged their Santa and Albert the Elf show. Santa is played by professional storyteller Mike Mann. Albert is played by Kevin Dutcher, an actor who also happens to run the music for the Twins ballgames. This year, Albert tries to teach Santa to dance, with unintended results, as a surprise gift for Mrs. Claus. Check out a preview here. The 25 minute show gives the audience a chance to sing carols and take some post show Santa photos. Macy's Santaland Saturday, Nov. 17 through Dec. 24 For the full retail Santa experience, head to the 8th floor of Macy's in downtown Minneapolis. Wander past animated vignettes of elves opening mail, harnessing reindeer and getting ready for Christmas at the North Pole (We know Dayton's fans miss those ever changing holiday displays, but "A Day in the Life of an Elf" arrived in 2008 and is here to stay). Then catch "Moose Crossing," now in its third year. Local puppeteers, Kurt Hunter, Wayne Krefting and others bring Santa and forest critters to life with hand puppets, shadow puppets,polo ralph lauren, and marionettes.
